Hi,

can someone confirm that the remote controls on the apple in-ear headphones are working 100% with iPhone 3.0?

As I understand it, it is a hardware limitation. Surely the 3rd-gen iPhone will fully support them.

I tested them last night on the "old" iPhone 3G and they still don't work even with the new 3.0 Software which is a shame in my opinion.

However, I read reviews, that they obviously seem to work with the new iPhone 3G S.

They work flawlessly, just like they do on an iPod touch (volume and play/stop/skip controls).

I'm using the In-Ears with the 3GS I recently bought and it's working perfectly right now. I'm not sure if it'll work with the 3G though.

I spoke to a "Genius" and they told me why.

It is to do with the jack connector on the stereo in earphones and the connector to the iPhone 3G.

I assume this has been changed in the iPhone 3GS for it to work.

Ha! I just discovered that the volume works on the 3GS today!

I was on the subway today and was trying to FF to the next song w/ a double click but must have hit hi because the volume turned up. I swear I gasped out loud like I just found a $20 bill at the bottom of my bag. lol.

there are some on ebay for $35 but they are not in original packing... also they seem to be missing the replacement caps
