iPhone 3.0 Beta 2 Big annoying issue

When I had the 1st beta, and i had a lot of text messages stored when i would type a message it would suddenly freeze up and lag what i was typing. Each letter would lag for 10 seconds before actually being typed. When this would happen it would also cut off the iphones sound and everything got a lot slower. the ipod app would crash and there would be no sound at all. With the 2nd beta, this problem seemed fixed. For the first 2 days it was perfect. Then about 10 min ago it happened again. To fix this problem I have to restart the phone and then i can text freely again with no problems for another 5 min and then it freezes again. Is anyone else having this problem?

It's still a Beta. This is to be expected.

My phone is just now started doing this and I'm running 3.1.3 Did you ever figure out the cause??
