Hi, i am using an iphone 3G with 3.1 software installed (not cracked). in order for me to connect to any saved wifi, i have to unlock to phone, wait 3 to 5 secs for it to connect and then open its mail application so that it will download any new mail which is in the inbox.

is there a way that, while unlocked, the iphone keeps scanning for wifi spots and as soon it recognizes one or finds an open one, it conncts to it and automatically, without touching anything, it downloads any new mail? other cooler functions may be that every internet based application may be updated at that time as well. such as weather applications and istore available updates.

Nokia and the HTC both can do this function. are there options i can do? or is this feature not available on the iphone?

thanks in advance
