iPhone 3.1 Tethering

I was wondering if there was any way to re-enable tethering in iPhone OS 3.1 without jailbreaking. I am leaving on vacation for 2 weeks tomorro, and really wanted to be able to tether on the 7 hour trip there.. Any help would be appreciated...

Haven't heard anything yet; difficulty is going back to 3.0 from 3.1, sorry....

Theres an app called PDAnet that can tether for you (JB phone only).
