iPhone 3 stuck at Apple logo

Hi all,

I have an iphone 3. (yes I know it's old, but I'd still appreciate some help please).

It is stuck at the Apple logo.

It will not hard reset or turn off unless the battery goes flat. I have tried to put it into DFU mode as by plugging it into a PC while the battery is flat and as soon as the battery logo appears, begin the key press sequence to enter DFU mode, but no luck.

While stuck on the Apple logo, I have held the Power and Home buttons for over 10 mins to try to make it reset, but no luck.

The device is NOT detected by windows/itunes at any time so far.

I do not know if this device was jailbroken or not.

Can anyone suggest my next step please?

hold power button and home button .play like this few times until the phone restart
