iPhone 3G 2.2.1 Mobile Me Push and Caps Lock problem

So I have had an iPhone (in an unsupported country, which I unlocked) for more than a year.

I just got a legitimately unlocked Italian iPhone 3G, upgraded it to 2.2.1 but am facing some issues.

1. MobileMe contacts, calendar, bookmarks are not being pushed into the phone, I have followed every step like I have it set up on my 2G iPhone. What could be the problem?

2. I like having caps lock enabled from the settings menu, with the 3G, when I double tab the shift button, the caps lock is enabled and I am unable to disable it.

Why am I having these issues with the 3G but not the 2G?
