Iphone 3g 4.2.1 Boot logo stuck

G'day I have a Iphone 3g 4.2.1 I have just tried to jailbreak it and add baseband with redsn0w when it was done it restarted the iphone and it has the boot logo stuck there with a dim screen (was dim strait off) and i cannot force it to turn off or restart because it will not respond. forecast, itunes, or the computer does not pick it up . Should I wait till it goes flat?

Have you tried holding the home and power buttons at the same time until the screen goes blank?

Yes I have but it does nothing even for 5 min

Take the thing apart and disconnect it from battery power or wait until the battery dies.

Or try RecBoot or TinyUmbrella to enter/exit recovery mode?

Pulled it apart to disconnect the battery put it back to together turned it on boot logo showed up in full brightness for 1 second then back to dim stuck logo screen.
Just tried RecBoot and TinyUmbrella but both of them do not pick it up
Is it time to retire the old 3g?

Put it on dfu mode

Open itunes. Connect usb
Press and hold the home and sleep/wake button
Exactly ten seconds after release sleep/wake button
Continue holding home button a message on computer shud pop up
This happened to me it might work with you!
