iPhone 3G 8GB White Screen

The phone still functions, but has a white screen. I have tried hard reseting, restoring. Restoring in DFU mode. Restoring in Pwned DFU mode for fun. Nothing, I have disassembled the phone and removed the battery for an even harder reset. I have also inspected the cables on the LCD. The cable the 90 degree connector cable looks ok, and feels ok. The second straight connector (#2) feels kind of weird. It does not feel as stiff as #1, kind of like a paper ribbon. Any ideas on fixing this White Screen of Death? With out replacing the LCD, I don't wish to sink any more money in this thing, I bought it for 20 bucks last night.

If the LCD is damaged in some way, can I repair the LCD?

I just tried applying heat to the #1 connector on the Logic Board to help fix any cracked or damaged solder. Still a white screen, and still everything else works great.

I bought it for 20 bucks last night.

Thats $20 that could have been spent on a working unit.
