I have an iPhone 3G that I bought new on the day it came out. About a year into my contract I dropped it in water and the screen got messed up so I put my SIM in an old phone and used that. I recently moved to an area that doesn't get ATT very well and changed to another carrier and I don't know what I did with my old SIM card. I was able to use my old 3G iphone as an ipod and camera and everything else until this morning when I broke down and upgraded it. Now it's requesting a SIM for activation. Is there a way to activate it without jailbreaking it?

Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

I am assuming it is. It's whatever the latest update is. I updated it this morning.

Thank you! I went ahead and unlocked it while I was at it. It's now running on the T-Mobile network. I forgot how nice it was and am now contemplating replacing the screen to bring it back to 100% :)

Thanks again!
