iPhone 3G calendar question

When you select the calendar and get the month view, I get a black dot on the days where I have an event. Im sure I just saw an advert where instead of the black dot the whole square (representing the day) is colored to the event type.

Am I imagining this or is there a setting for it?
 
I think you are imaging it, I haven't found anything.

Take a look at SaiSuke calender app. its pretty nice, colors, labels etc.
The only down side is it doesn't have an alert, maybe that will change
in ver 3.0.
