iPhone 3G dock adapter included?

I was wondering if anyone has heard or read if the new iPhone 3G will include a dock adapter to work with the Apple universal dock. I just bought one for my iPod touch and was hoping to use it with the iPhone 3G. I know the new phone does not come with a dock but it does not say on the product page if it comes with a adapter.
 
on the tech specs page of the iphone 3g, it isn't mentioned as part of the contents of what's "in the box."

I was going to buy the Griffin PowerDock 2 Charging Base for 2 iPod or iPhone Models, but now I may wait to see if the new iPhone wobbles when using the old iPhone dock adapters.
 
I spoke to Apple and they said that an iPhone 3G dock will be available, and that dock adapters won't be available for using your iPhone with the current universal dock. So I guess the universal dock is no longer that universal...

Well that stinks. I guess after July 11th this dock will be going back to Best Buy.:mad:

That's so...WTH? I guess they want us to shell out for a specific 3G dock? :mad:

I'm glad I didn't order anything yet.

I was looking into buying a universal dock when I found this out. It really does suck. Sometimes Apple pisses me off.
 
Here is a pic of the 3G dock. I presume my 3rd Gen iPod Nano will fit in it as well. Either way I plan on buying this if it is also available 7/11 at the Apple Store.

if you look at the bootom of the tech specs page it shows the available accessories and iPhone 3G Universal Dock Adapter 3-Pack is one of them
 
As far as I was told, you would need a special iPhone 3G dock. But the guy above provides good evidence to say you don't...hmmm
 
sureley the iphone will sit in the universal dock without a adaptor.
aslong as it will do that ill be happy not bothered too much. for the first few weeks

Good catch! I ammend my previous comment. The universal dock is still uni-versal. *cheers heard from 'round the universe* :D

It will work in both. The only difference is that the iPhone 3G Dock has the holes for the speaker and mic so you can hear it ring better while it is docked.

Whew! I'm glad it's a 3-pack. 2 just isn't enough and 4 just feels like overkill. :rolleyes:

But seriously, I think I'm missing something. Why are they sold in packs of 3?

Merlosso or anyone else with 2 spare universal dock adapters: Anyone want to sell me 1 of your extras? I really don't want to buy a three pack just to waste 2. The three pack is really stupid.
