iPhone 3G does not turn or recognize iTunes

My iPhone simply does not turn on, does nothing at all. When i connect it to usb charger and turn it on, i get a red low battery screen and then it goes to apple logo and lights up then it turns off, then it agains repeat everything. :mad:
