I bought a used iPhone 3g unlocked/jailbroken running 4.0.2

After realising how much lag there is on iphone 3g i decided to downgrade to 3.1.3. I have downgraded, now I am stuck at the iPhone activation screen.

My final goal is to go from iphone activation screen to having this unit unlocked so I can use it with tmobile. What is the best route to take in order to accomplish this. Please be as specific as possible, I'm a noob.

Thank You.

Jailbreak with Redsn0w 0.9.3 then unlock with Ultrasn0w. Redsn0w also hactivates. Make sure your baseband can also be unlocked. The baseband should be 5.13.xx

Just downloaded redsnow. It is asking me for a .ipsw file. Can I use factory one from apple which I used to downgrade my phone with (3.1.3) or do I need a different one?

Just tried my original .ipsw 3.1.3 and redsnow is giving an error message saying: "Unable to recognize specified ipsw."

What do I do now?

I got my iPhone unlocked sucessfully. Thank you everyone for your help.

Now I have a question regarding battery percentage and springboard. I have downloaded version 1 and 2 for battery percentage and non of them seem to work. I tried selecting/unselecting battery percentage in springboard, and resetting and nothing seems to work. Am I doing something wrong? I really want to get battery percentage to work.
