The GPS on my 3G stopped functioning so I went through the steps of reseting the device myself followed by taking it to a genius bar who "blew out" the firmware. Basically the device functions like a 2G in that it only triangulates via the cell towers. Bluetooth is still functioning fine btw.

I read somewhere that tapping the back of the phone sometimes helps revive the GPS functionality. In desperation I smacked the phone on the top of my steering wheel for several minutes and it worked! Unfortunately it went back to not working next time I tried to use it.

Anyone have any thoughts one a permanent fix? Does it sound like an antenna is loose?

Thanks
