I know you cant set the wallpaper for the home screen for some ridiculous reason, and yes, i know apple mods the app store and will most likely pervent something on it that mods the UI.

However, I was wondering if anyone know if there will be any way (ie anythign in testing?) once you can officially jailbreak a 2.0 3g unit? Hopefully something like smb to enable it? that's all i want... enable wallpaper for the home screen.. i hate this plain black crap! :(

Me Too!

Yeah, my boyfriend has the iPhone 3G S and it has the ability to but a wallpaper on your home screen...I still have the old 3G were it's just plain black.:(

yeah this is ********, why leave older generations out..

Jailbreaking time..
Quite simple. Jailbreaking re-enables the homescreen wallpaper and multitasking; but if you had read the threads of some peoples' 3G performance with it, you will see that it's not consistent for decent performance. Some like myself have a speed increase and it's very worthwhile, others on their 3G phones have had utter crap performance and regret it.
