iPhone 3G in Korea

Does anyone know anything about this? I found some news articles from a few months back that say the iPhone 3G would be released in Japan and Korea. I also read that someone used their AT&T iPhone in Korea but it was very expensive. Is it available for purchase in Korea? Thanks.

iPhone 3G has been officially launched in Japan few weeks back but not in Korea. I heard WIPI (not WIFI) restricts iPhone landing in their territory. I also heard Korea has number of issues other than WIPI to be compromised so I highly doubt it will happen in the near future.
