My iPod touch broke, so I'm looking to buy an iPhone 3G off eBay. I currently have an AT&T phone and have no interest in signing up for data plan. I know you can block data from the iPhone using BossPrefs or FakeAPN or something, but my question is, do either work with iOS 4 yet and will MMS still work? I haven't been able to find a solid answer; some people say it didn't work for them, some say it works just fine.
Also, is there any way to avoid getting any charges between when you block data and set-up the iPhone? I suppose it might be a few cents at most, but never-the-less
