Am I the only one? Ever since I installed iOS4 on my 3G phone, my phone is constantly crashing & freezing. Almost every time I open the iPod, it will take several seconds (I'd say about 20) to open, and some times it'll even crash.

I want to go back to 3.whatever.

I only had iOS4 on my iPhone 3G for less than a day (before I shipped it out to its new owner), but it seemed to run pretty smoothly for me. Sorry to hear about your problems. :(

No problems here, mines been slow since OS 3, and it didnt get better or worse with 4. There really is no upside for a 3g owner though except folders and some os4 only apps.

My experience is similar - bad

I have sat next to somebody with a 3GS and we have compared opening Settings. His open immediately, mine takes about 10 seconds. There are other instances of slowness elsewhere. Obviously, the 3GS is faster anyway, but it never took 10 seconds to open the settings page before.

my 3G is slow as crap compared to my iPad. It was since 3.1.3; but 4 made it lag even more. Steve needs to launch iPhone 4 here in Canada soon...

I wouldn't install iOS4 on the 3G. 3.x was slow enough as is and with all of these reports of slowness, it just doesn't seem worth it to install it.

Even if I were keeping my 3G, I wouldn't be upgrading to iOS4. The 3G was slow enough as it was...grindingly slow.

it's not terrible...its crap! I actually saw (for the first time ever) jumbled up graphics when messaging...
Took the cue and downgraded to 3.1.3....much nicer.

I have an 8 gig 3g. I installed the new os on Monday, took about 50 minutes, I jb'd the device last night, and I have no problems. Mine almost seems to run faster now.

Please advise how you have downgraded.

thankfully...it was dead simple (no thanks to Apple though since they don't sign the 3.1.3 firmware anymore.)

I found the instructions to downgrade here

I have a factory unlocked iPhone 3G 16GB and this process worked fine...

i have a 16gb 3g...put ios4 on it when it was released...took bloody forever.
at times when it was first loaded it lagged a bit and became slow and choppy, but now after a few days it's much smoother and working a lot better then when i first put ios4.

folders is my favourite addition. went from 6 pages to 1 and my brother went from 8 pages to 2 on his 3gs.

worth the upgrade, if your having issues try doing a fresh update.

Plus it will break my jailbreak, no thanks Steve - no thanks.
