OK, so thinking I was doing a better thing than just downloading freeware- I paid for the jailbreak 4.2.1 restore.ipsw and ultrasn0w unlock.
I origionally had (I think) 4.0 and it updated to 4.2.1 through iTunes and then followed the jailbreak (redsn0w) instructions with Cydia app installed. Everything was working fine except Cydia wouldnt connect to the URL. I did this multiple times with a PC and MAC and all with the same problem. I paid for this service from iPhone-Unlocker-Pro.com (DONT USE THEM!!) because they offered free customer support for life. So $25 whatever... I tried resetting my network connections, didn't work. My iPhone wouldn't detect any network around anywhere. So I asked the peeps what I should do, and they said I have to rejailbreak it with the iPad firmware option selected. So I did.. still didn't work. So I asked again, they said you need to restore. I tried, again, multiple times and I keep getting the 1015 error.
SO long story short, I jailbroke my phone with the iPad firmware so it would then update to 06.15.00 and it did but no wireless so now after trying to rejailbreak it, re-restore it and all sorts of other variations.. it still isn't working.. I still get the 1015 error and my phone only shows the startup icon and the plug into iTunes logo and nothing else.

PLEASE HELP!!
I want to beat iPhone-Unlocker-Pro.com to death!
But I want my iPhone working first!

There's your problem right there. You NEVER should pay for a jailbreak/unlock. Live and learn I guess.

*facepalm* this err'body is a prime example of what you should never, ever do. Don't be tricked into paying.

If you stumbled at this hurdle, without doing prior research (clearly) then jailbreaking probably isn't going to be for you. it isn't for everybody after all, and if you've not prepared and researched you could end up with all sorts of problems- resulting in more flaming posts.

If you feel you do know what you're doing then here's a start, just make sure you understand the technical details so not to lock your phone should you rely on an unlock (for ex.)

Use Tiny Umbrella and put it in DFU mode. Download 4.3.2 IPSW and google the hell out of it and keep at it.
It is fixable, it'll just take you trying different routes.

Also, if you have another computer, you can try putting it in DFU mode and trying to restore on another machine first.

Weiser: Thank you. You've actually given the only bit of useful information so far. I appreciate it. I'll give it a play and see what I can figure out, although I don't think that 4.3.2 is for the 3G, only the 3GS and up. And I have tried it on different computers both Apple and PC platforms.. still the same result, but at least it gives me something to research.

To everyone else that posted, thanks for stating the complete OBVIOUS and not really being any further help

It's not like you gave any useful information to work with, other than the fact you're very gullible.
You didn't tell us what you discovered as a result of googling your error message. I don't know about everybody else, but I don't have those memorized. If you want help with an error message, you need to be proactive. Also you didnt tell us your OS, iTunes version, whether you went into DFU mode, etc.
Also, why haven't you been reading through the archives? It's not like you're the first fool to screw it up. If you had, you could've avoided this public flogging.

All these websites are scams looking for fools 99% of us would never touch or even allow our browsers to go near those sites. So don't be upset when a few people chuckle because you stated the obvious. it's ok you learned life goes on. Now if I were you I would put 3.1.3 firmware on my 3G 4.0 +is features are designed more for the faster 3GS,I4 yes there is some apps you won't be able to run but I think you will be much happier with the performance of your device.
