Have an old iPhone 3G.
Did a jailbreakme.com followed by ulrasn0w 1.1-1 to unlock today.

I have a 2 year old SIM from Europe (Lebara prepaid mobile).
I wanted to test if the phone was really unlocked.

I popped in the SIM, and was asked for the unlock code.
I typed the code, it accepted it. (Is this enough to prove that the phone is unlocked?)

But then i got the "waiting for activation" screen.
It never activates. I have no service listed.

If i go into settings, I now have an option for carrier (See picture). Is this proof that the phone is unlocked?

If I select carrier, I get two options: AT&T and T-Mobile. (See picture)
Is this proof that the phone is unlocked?

So is my phone unlocked? Is it possible the SIM is old or dead so it doesn't work here in the US anymore? I don't have easy access to a t-mobile SIM, and am afraid to pop in my old AT&T sim or else AT&T may know something is up.

Yes, you're fine.

I just posted added photos- can you again confirm that it is good?

I plan on taking the 3G with me to Europe in a couple of weeks, since even if i unlock my iPhone 4, I doubt i'd get easy access to a prepaid MICRO SIM.

Looks good.
It will accept any sim now that you installed ulrasnow.
You know if you can always cut a sim to a microsim size right?

That seems like a lot of work- and I am a little wary of unlocking iPhone 4 just yet. You think I am being stupid about this? It would be a lot easier just keeping one iPhone when I travel.

Its up to you.
Its a little tricky trimming the sim without ruining it and while you travel mind as well use your old 3G than the new iphone 4.

I wonder if they sell prepaid MICRO SIMs in europe yet....
