Iphone 3G Jailbreak and Unlock Help

Hey guys, I came here due to the common belief that you guys know what you're doing and are very willingly helpful.

So I currently have an iphone 3G, 4.0.1 with a baseband of 5.13.04. I've noticed that over the past 5 months of usage, my phone has been incredibly slow and my friend told me the only way to fix it is to upgrade it.

I need it to be unlocked and jailbroken. if anyone has a tutorial or help, may you please help me? thanks!!!

You should downgrade to 3.1.3, not upgrade. 4.x.x slows your phone down.

Agreed. Even your baseband is unlockable I won't recommend upgrading at all.
