I recently jailbroke and unlocked my iPhone 3G (iOS 4 via redsn0w). After I unlocked it, I noticed that there was an issue with the wifi. Every time I turned the iPhone on (not just turning on the screen but turning the device on from a completely off state), the wifi wouldn't work. It kept getting a 169.x.x.x IP address and saying that it could not connect to the Internet. However, if I turned wifi off in Settings and turned it back on, it worked. This never happened before the jailbreak; it used to work perfectly. So, I restored the phone in iTunes to the default iOS 4 firmware, and the wifi appeared to work fine. Later, I tried jailbreaking and unlocking again, but the same wifi problem occurred. But this time, when I restored the phone in iTunes to its default state, the wifi issue did not go away. Even in its default, non-jailbroken state, the wifi does not work on first boot (same IP address problem). If I turn wifi off and then back on, it works.

I have other iPhone 3Gs that have never been jailbroken connecting to the same wireless network and they work fine. I tried resetting the network settings on the phone and restoring in DFU mode, but the problem still persists. Can anyone help? Thanks.
