Iphone 3G Jailbreaking problem!

So I have a jailbroken/unlocked Iphone 3G on 2.2 software, I was just wondering how do I upgrade the Jailbreak to a higher IOS and still keep it unlocked? and what do I use?

Oh man it's easy... download the newest software update, but don't install it. Then use pwnagetool to create a custom ipsw. restore to it. done.
