iPhone 3G LCD replacement

I recently broke my LCD trying to replace the digitizer/panel. I can see a faint image on the phone with it either being very faint or white. What are my options? I have an old broken 1st gen iPhone...will the LCD on that work on my 3G??
Any info would be appreciated...even criticism for breaking it haha. Thanks

No. I believe the physical dimensions of the screens are different.

ok. now obviously the screen is going to be faint because i broke it, but shouldnt it be faint just to where the crack goes to? or will it follow all the way up the lcd?
