I have a semi-bricked Iphone 3G that has had problems since Apple released IOS4 and completely ignored the fact that it reduced the 3G to a glitchy handheld headache.
This has drastically degraded now, and starting last week, I have to reboot my iphone daily for it to be remotely useful. When I do the reboot process - it locks up on the slider screen. Today I'm on my 4th reboot (only getting so far as the slider screen) and I started this process at 3pm (almost 3 hours ago now)

I don't intend to replace the iphone until iphone 5 comes as I don't want to be a generation behind anymore.

Does anyone have a recommendation as to how I can ease my pain?
