I went to replace the back on my 3g and when assembling it I had trouble getting the MB spring to touch the chrome bezel. The chrome bezel didnt seem to want to stay down on the back so when I installed the MB the ground spring would not touch the bezel. I tried to bend it up....dumb move, as it popped right off the MB. 
I think I didnt have the speaker parts above the bezel so thats why the bezel was lifting off the back, but its to late now as the spring is off the MB. I was wondering:
1) Do I need this for the phone to work?
2) Is it possible to resolder this spring back on the MB?
