Hey there everybody.
My father's iPhone went to the "connect to iTunes" mode:

And when I connect it to iTunes, first, this "Waiting for iPhone" pops up:

And after a little bit, I get this error message:

I'm pretty much stumped.
I was on the phone with 1800myiphone, and he walked me through some procedures (Reset, holding home button and connecting).
Anyways, I figured the best way to find a solution was to come to the people who know and love the iPhone. :)

Assuming the SIM is inserted correctly, it could be a hardware fault with the SIM reader, or the SIM itself. Either way, it's probably going to be best to take it to the nearest Apple Store and get them to swap it out.
