iPhone 3g, no vibration after back housing replacement

I'm so sad right now :(
Yesterday I changed my back housing (because it was cracked) and put my iPhone 3g back together.
But now it can't vibrate, and it doesn't make a sound when I recieve a text message. I feel like I have done exactly like in the videos on youtube.
What could I possibly have done wrong? Can someone please help me..
