Iphone 3g not syncing with itunes

Hi! i recently began seeing that my iphone was not syncing with my itunes but it seems to be charging and it has a small pop up with the iphone camera thingy with the 3 choices kinda like when you plug in your usb flashdrive choosing options what so ever. I turn one my itunes and it seems to not sync or have any reactions with my iphone it also happens with my ipod touch soo i dont understand why its doing this... and tips how i can fix this problem~~ currently running windows XP but i do have a MBP but my songs are mostly in my PC thats why i sync it there...

make sure it is not plugged into a firewire or USB 1.0 port

it was working before fine but all of a sudden it stop reconizing when i open my itunes there seems to be nothing detected..
