I apologize if this has been brought up before. I searched to no avail for a previous thread. My iphone 3g running ios 4.2.1 has 1 hour usage and 4 hours stand by and is dead. I have no idea why it is losing battery so fast. Any tips would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

sorry if this seems a bit insulting.
have you just upgraded to the 4.2.1 OS from an old 3.x.x OS?
if so, you may have all your apps open because they no longer close when you press the home button. That wears down your battery really quickly. double tap home to see all your apps that are open and then hold on one to bring up the cross to close them.

again, sorry if this is insulting, i've just seen a few people not knowing about the multitasking feature.

The Multitask feature is not available on the 3G without a JB.
