Before I get started, let me just say that I tried a search but am not too good at it, so forgive me if this has been posted

But based on a rumor recently posted showing inventory listings for the iPhone "2009" and the iPhone 3G (TMobile), I had an idea (these are the way they were listed, not names that I am giving them)

Perhaps ATT will keep the new "2009" iPhone as an exclusive device, while the old iPhone 3G will be offered on TMobile in the US, in addition to ATT

Anyone know if this would be possible with the exclusivity agreement?
sounds like it might work to me

The T-Mobile that is talked about in the article is the Dutch T-Mobile, and besides, US T-Mobile's 3G uses different bands than the iPhone has, so I doubt they would do this.
