iPhone 3g Only 6.8gb Total Capacity - My other iphone had 7.1gb ????

I just got sent a refubished iphone 3g 8gb from apple as I was having problems with my other iphone 3g 8gb.

The thing is the new iphone 3g when I go to settings --> general --> about , it says its only got 6.8gb capacity, and says the same in itunes.

Where as my other iphone 3g i had , had a capacity of 7.1gb.

Whats it meant to be? Any ideas why I only have 6.8gb on the new one?

NOTE: This is NOT the amount of free space , its the total capacity of the iphone

Guess it must be faulty, gonna get apple to send another one.

Were both iPhones using OS 3.0? that's the only thing I can think of that would change your available capacity.
