I have just updated my iPhone 3G to the OS 4.0 and all is fine until i tried to connect it to my Bose Sounddock Portable. It will no longer connect.
It worked fine with 3.0 but got a message upon connection that it was not compatible with this device and would i like to turn on flight mode to stop interference. It still worked and connected either way.
It would also not connect with a friend's Logitec Player as well.

Does anyone else with the same configuration (iPhone3G running OS4.0) have the same issue.

My wife's 3GS running OS4.0 works fine.

Need some guidance as we wont get the iPhone 4 in Oz for another month at least i guess.

same problem

im running on the same configuration and my sound dock does not work either.
3G iphone iOS 4.0

iphone 3G running OS4.0 now connects to Bose Sounddock

Not Sure what has changed but i had my iPhone charging in the sounddock last night and the phone rang and the ringer came through the speakers.

I then tested it again and the new apple interference message now comes up and it connects and plays music.

All is good, i don't know why, but its good :D

Same problem - used to work fine with a prompt to enter airplane mode. Now the iPod function works but other sound apps don't.

:(

The same happened to me with an FM transmitter (Griffin iTrip) after upgrading my 3G to iOS4.

I rebooted the iPhone and all was well. Event though the upgrade process does a reboot I think it's a good idea to do a manual one afterwards. Certianly solved my issues.

iPhone 3GS OS 4.0 will no longer connect to Bose Sounddock Portable

This is an update... I don't know why but it works now

Thanks!

I was having the same problem as I just had to upgrade my iPhone two days ago. It wasn't charging and I kept getting error messages when I docked it into my Portable Sound Dock.

I re-booted (I had to consult a youtube video!), and it works well now.

Thanks.
