iphone 3g queries.

hi all

my brother gave me is old iphone 3g but:

1- version 3.1.2 it has all games inside. in case i update to 3.1.3, will the phone still work? or will it get locked? :p

2- how can i disable the call picture even though i deleted all the pictures in the phone. :confused:
