iPhone 3g s (No sim card installed) problem

Hi, i bought a iphone 3g s with help of my friend from USA. I'm living in another country. It was working ofcourse (i mean i could access the home page of iphone). But when i do the firmware restore the phone is stucked on the beginning (starting) saying "No sim card is installed. Insert a valid sim with no pin lock to activate iPhone" and does only emergency calls (and of course iTunes says the same ). i can not reach the home page, so the other nonphone functions. But i do not wanna use the phone and i have not at&t card which is have been bought or activated with this phone. What can i do are there any suggestions?

hi there i got the same problem after i tried to jailbreak from pawnage after i upgraded to firmware os 4.0 .....is you iphone fixed if yes can you plz help me i'm really worried .....my iphone is 3gs as well..
