my friend has iPhone 3G (he is on T-Mobile), he can send out text messages, but can not receive them. anyone know what is wrong?

You mean MMS? Because I think this feature was added in posterior software updates, so he must check if he has the appropriate iOS version.

Picture texts/MMS or regural text messages?
MMS on Tmobile past iOS 4.0 have been a pain to get to work right.

picture message/MMS is not receiving anything.

yes, i dont understand because i have the iphone 4 with at&t so i dont have this problem. how do i check if my iOS is the right version?

i tried to google it up and i followed what this site says with changing the cellular data stuff.

MMSC: http://mms.msg.eng.t-mobile.com/mms/wapenc
MMS Proxy: 216.155.165.050
MMS Max Message Size: 1048576 <--optional

he gets a message that says "media content was not included due to a picture resolution of message size restriction"

after doing more research, i found that i think it can be fixed by going to Cydia and downloading something called "Legacy" but i cannot find it in the Cydia search.
