So I'm interested in maybe getting the new 3G S iphone. I wanted to see how much it would be a month. On Apple in order to view the data plans it seems like they need my social first. I don't want them to run a credit check as it might affect my credit. Especially if I may not end up getting the phone anyway. Is there anywhere else I can go to see the data plans available? I'm just trying to see how much it would cost me a month.

Have you tried the carrier who actually provides the service?

For a single line, the minimum will be:

39.99 for voice
30 for data

Both the above are mandatory. Data + voice. Below is optional, but recommended.

Messaging
200 msgs = $5
1500 msgs = $15
UNL msgs = $20

It comes to about $75 with the lowest plans (450 minutes/5000 minutes nights and weekends/iPhone Data Plan/200 text messages) and that's before the $10+ additional fees you'll encounter, and possibly activation fees. I just started a membership through my work since I get discounts, and that brought the monthly total down to about $58.
