iPhone 3G Screen is black and won't come on

I was sitting on my computer and all of the sudden my 3G's screen was white and I couldn't get it to come back on. So I tried restarting it only for the screen never to turn on again. It still is making sounds like the charge sound, and even recognizable in itunes. Just no screen. I have tried rebooting it, turning it off and on, and even restoring it. Please help, I need this thing to last me one more week until I get my iPhone 4.

Take it into the apple store. Sounds like you shorted out your screen. That shouldn't happen
