Iphone 3G screen is broke!

I dont no what to do, i was on the phone and it cut off. I have just a white screen but the sound still works e.g. When unlocking it. I have tried resetting it (Holding the power and home button down for 10 secs), i have opened the phone up (im aware i lose all warranty) All the cables are still attached, i have watched many tutorials on youtube but noone has the same problem. Im thinking i may have to buy a new screen but before i do has anyone experienced this and have a solution as im resorting to using a Blackberry
