First, I would like to start by saying Yes, I'm brand new to the macrumors forums and have probably offended most of you in some way already as that's just the nature of web forums. Sorry, My bad.
Anyway, I've been noticing a jagged line through my iphone 3g's screen since shortly after buying it, and I was wondering if anyone else has had experience with this issue. Also, just today I noticed one pixel within the line refusing to turn any color but white or red. As in, when it is supposed to be black, there is one bright red pixel staring at me. It has nothing to do with the glass and doesn't interfere with functionality; it appears to be underneath.
I have never dropped the phone, it's just something I noticed a couple weeks after buying it in the beginning of January. I've never bothered to look into it because I live a good 60 miles away from an apple store.
Yes, I do have applecare...but basically all I see here on the internet regarding applecare is that it's essentially useless unless you can back them into a corner and prove it's an out-of-the-box manufacturer's hardware defect.
So, My questions are:
-Is this a known issue? Is there a fix?
-Would applecare fix the issue....as I've said, I've honestly never dropped the phone....I just noticed it one day shortly after buying it.
Thanks for your time guys!
