iPhone 3g Screen on 3GS?

Hey I just wanted to ask someone a quick question before I bought a cracked 3GS.

Can I remove the digitizer and the glass screen on the top from my iPhone 3G and put it in a 3Gs?
 
The last time I checked, the screens are the same, but the connectors are different/placed differently, so you can't use them interchangeably.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong.
 
I looked online, I know its not the most exact source but I was looking at photos and they looked to be in the same exact spot.
