Hi there, a few weeks ago i dropped my phone in water( i know, silly) and surprisingly it stopped working, the only response i could get out of it was whenever i plugged it into the wall charger or the laptop where the screen would go black( as if turned on) and a white apple logo would appear in the middle of the screen for about 5mins and then it would turn off.
I did a bit of looking about on the internet and i narrowed it down to two problems, that either my logic board was done in, or my battery was.
I went for the cheaper option first and bought a new battery.
After fitting it, i plugged the iphone into my charger and got some positive signs. But there was a distinct problem, the screen has now decided it doesnt want to work, its gone white with black, red and blue vertical lines down it.
The touch screen is working, and the buttons worked aswell. I can tell you this because it makes the familiar clicking noise whenever i press the lock-key button and when i run my finger along the button of the screen, i hear it unlock.
Im reluctant to say its something to do with the logic board since the buttons are all working and the phone is clearly booting up properly, and im also reluctant to say theres a problem with the screen since before i replaced the battery, it was displaying a very defined apple logo against a perfectly lit, black background.
What im wondering is if it could possibly be something i did wrong when putting the iphone back together, and if taking the screen apart would warrant any use?
