Hi guys,

I have an iPhone 3G 2.2.1 (5H11) sim- and netlock free.
I just recently moved to France and am using Simyo as my new network provider.
As I was living in a number of countries in the last year and have never been able to subscribe to a data plan in any of them (due to the obvious time restrictions in each of them) I changed my APN long time ago in order to avoid excessive data charges.
However, since I am using now the Simyo network my iPhone is still constantly connecting to the internet causing high charges for the data usage - this even though I have a fake APN setup.
Can anybody tell me how to finally stop this and avoid that my iPhone is using EDGE/3G??? I have tried a number of fake APNs, but none of them seem to work anymore. Its sad that Apple enables these rip-off behaviours and does not cater to really to the modern global person they actually target to in the first place.

Any help would be appreciated.

Best regards,
RigoX
