iPhone 3G stuck in endless loop. Help please. [FIXED. THANKS TO: Holmes093]

Alright so I jailbroke my phone about a year ago with jailbreakme.com It is still currently on the iOS3 firmware. What it does is it boots to the apple logo for a bit, then it goes to the home screen showing the current time, battery percentage, etc. All normal, except I cant slide the slider and it just stays frozen at the home screen for about 30 seconds. Then it just reboots gets stuck again. When this happened I was downloading iBlacklist, it asked me to restart springboard, so i did. When I restarted it it stayed on the spinning circle for about 20 minutes. It wasnt normal so I forced it to shut off by holding the home button and sleep button for about 10 seconds. When I rebooted it, it started this continuos loop. I think it can still be recovered since it goes to the home screen. I also want to add that I CANNOT restore. I have NEVER plugged this phone into iTunes before. I would also not like to restore because I havent restored in 2 years, so i would lose a lot of precious data. Any help?

Can you SSH into the device at all ?

what is SSH? it's just stuck in a loop of turning on and off. when it turns on it goes to the home screen, gets stuck, then reboots.

trust me go the redsn0w route it's a much more stable jailbreak. still fairly easy though certainly not as easy as Jailbreakme. Then again Redsn0w works numerous complainants and crashes with Jailbreakme. how ever you do what you like.

I have NEVER plugged this phone into iTunes before. I would also not like to restore because I havent restored in 2 years, so i would lose a lot of precious data. Any help?

That is a really bad idea.

1+ always back up before updating software or umm jailbreaking for this exact reason! why wouldn't somebody want to back up there data! Sorry TS already gave you my best advice good luck there!

Your data is lost.

1. Connect to a PC/Mac running iTunes
2. Put it in DFU mode.
3. Restore to factory settings.
4. Re-install all apps
5. BACKUP

You could try this
Plug In iPhone
Download and install iFunbox to PC
Load iFunbox
Go To Raw Filesystem - Then Applications
Delete iBlacklist folder.
Then Reboot Phone

Glad I Could Help ! Next the problem of data. I have never used this method personally so I don't know 100% percent if it will work but theoretically it should.
Download iBye from cydia $1.99
Launch it, register and back up all the data you want to either your own FTP Server or iBye's webserver.
Update to the firmware you want by SHIFT-Restore then select.
Set phone up as new phone.
Jailbreak accordingly.
Re-install iBye. Login, download all saved data.

Remember I do not know 100% if this works but like i said theoretically it should.
