Hi guys, i have an iphone 3G ( yes old :(.) Basically my battery died, and i plugged it in, and it started up, but showing the connect to itunes screen. A message then pops up in itunes saying i cannot use it i have to restore it. The thing is i've not backed up this phone in over 6 months, i dont wish to lose everything. I've tried downloading tinyumbrella to kick it out of the recovery mode but it doesnt do that, simply restarts, taking slightly longer than usual and shows the usual connect to itunes screen. My phones not jailbroken, and i believe it is running 4.0.1. My question is there any other way to kick it out of recovery mode? Otherwise is there any way using 3rd party software to backup the phone in the state its in now, then restore it with itunes and reload my backup? I really don't wish to lose my messages etc.

many thanks for reading and thanks to anyone who responds
