Someone sat on my friend's iPhone 3g. The glass didn't crack but the screen turns all white when you turn it on. I changed the LCD for him and got the phone to boot up but it's stuck on the screen with the Apple Logo. Is restoring the only option?My friend doesn't have his information backed up. I remember using iReb or another similar program to fix the same problem with another 3g

That's most likely your only option at this point. If it's stuck at the Apple logo and it still doesn't work after restoring, it's a hardware issue
