I was there on day one and it only took 15 minutes and that was with no previous information given like you can do now. I got mine from the apple store. I like going to them because its an apple product running on att service. something goes wrong with your iphone right then and there you're at least in an apple store. But congrats and welcome to the team! :p

I waited in line for 3 hours on July 9th. You might get through the process a little quicker though ;)

If you have a apple store near by, its much better to purchase it from an official store. They are so much more professional and can better answer any questions you might have about the iphone. I personally think the AT&T reps are stupid when it comes to phones.

Thanks! I never went to AT&T store, I always ordered online, so this is

first time Iam going to store to actually get my phone right on spot , iam bit

nervous..haha

Definitely at the apple store, and before you leave the store, check for any abnormality on your phone, such as light leaks on the screen etc.

Yes, someone posted he exchanged 6 times due to the low quality of iphone 3g and light leaks!!

I wonder what light leaks are and what exaclty should i check if there's any?

thank you!

:D

A light leak is when light comes out of the phone anywhere other than the screen. Normally it's down the left or right of the screen, where the front of the phone meets the bezel thing.

I swear my iPhone 3G is like the only one without a light leak... which I'm glad for of course, haha.

ive exchanged mine 6 times now, all have had light leaks, though I exchanged them for different reasons (dead pixels, dust mostly). I've decided to live with it now.

You should consider a refurbished one. They come in a white box. And apple makes a big deal about getting their phones perfect when they refurbish them.

Well then smarty-pants, how come they come in a different white box?

Because those are deemed replacement phones. That white box isn't gonna guarantee anything. One of my "refurbished" iphones had a noticeable scratch on the front black bezel on the glass when the guy took it out of the box. So they aren't "perfect". Also "sergiuria", tell me how many iPhone 3G refurbs you have gotten?

Two, my first 3G had light leaks, so I directly asked for the refurbished one at the genius bar. And then my girlfriend, "mistakenly" dropped down the toilet, so I had to get another faulty 3G and did the same thing, and I might add, both are perfect.

Best advice I can give you is to GET A CASE IMMEDIATELY!

I got mine on Monday.. Tuesday at lunch I was tying my shoe and it fell out of my pocket (1-2 feet) and hit the ground. Picked it up and it looked fine, 4 hours later I looked and it had a crack in it..

If I had a case, I would hope it wouldn't have cracked.

Angels!!

Thank you!
I already bought invisible shield and got one last week!!

I really don't like the idea adding more weighs on iphone 3g. Iam the one

among many others iphone itself shines!!!

Invisible Shield was such a waste. Takes away from the feel of the phone, there is no "shine" to the phone, the corner's sucked, and it just all together was terrible. I just have it with an anti glare screen shield and a Sena Ultraslim pouch! :)

God..you are making me feel sad..I will see what sena pouch looks like

thanks for the info!! :D

Have you thought of buying your Iphone at Best Buy? They offer insurance for it, so if you break it they replace it for free.

Buddy got his this week. He did the online application and it only took 15 minutes in the Apple store. AND they set it all up with his email accts etc.

NONE of my friends (around 6) have had light leaks with their iphones.
You must have really bad luck.
