I would like to do whatever it takes to convert my old iPhone 3g into a "wifi iPod" for my kiddo.

Is jailbreaking the only way to do this?

Is there a tutorial somewhere that walks me through this process? I have spent the past hour google-ing and haven't turned up an answer.

Any help is greatly appreciated.
