I have an old jailbroken iPhone 3G on 3.1.2 that was left over after I upgraded to my iPhone 4. I've just put it into Airplane mode and been using it as an iPod Touch.
I connected it to iTunes for the first time since I upgraded, and iTunes is complaining: "There is no sim card installed in the iphone you are attempting to activate." Now, 1) The phone had already been activated (I was using it as a phone after all, and 2) The original SIM is still in it.
My wife's phone, which is the same except that it's not jailbroken, seems to be operating correctly. What gives?
It looks like there's nothing I can do until it gets activated again? And I need a new SIM for that? I just wanted to put some new songs on it and such.
