I fix iphones and this issue seemed real weird to me.
Guy brings me iphone 3g. admits he has dropped it a few times. it started acting up after he drops it and he decides to turn off. Wouldnt turn on so he brought it to me. I checked it out and after switching out battery itunes recognized in recovery mode. I try to restore and keep getting error 6. just to try it, i put the board in a different back housing assembly to rule out battery and or dock/connector. It powers on fine...so i put it back in original housing and it is in restore mode. I put in ANOTHER back housing and still in restore mode. I try to restore and keep getting various error codes. After messing with it i decide to put into back housing that it works in and powered up fine. Any idea why it only works in a specific back housing???
